Ankleswar is a city and a municipality in Bharuch
district in the state of Gujarat, India. The city
is located approximately ten kilometers from Bharuch.
Ankleshwar has an industrial township called G.I.D.C.
(Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation), which
is the biggest industrial township in Asia. Ankleshwar
also has a regional office for ONGC (oil and natural
gas commission).
Today, Ankleshwar has over 100 big
and small chemical plants. These chemical plants produce
insecticides, speciality chemicals, and paint. The
pharmaceutical company Cadila Healthcare has a plant
to make active pharmaceutical ingredient in Ankleshwar.
The big MultiNational firm Hoechst India Limited has
a plant to make Rabies vaccine (for dog bite) along
with other Agro and Pharma divisions. The division
is now known as Chiron Behring Vaccine India. |
